What a fantastic ride we had today. We had a small group of six today. The ride was lead by Jerry, followed by me (Barbara), Randy, Steve, Larry (welcome back, Larry), and Rick.
We took Ortega Hwy to get to Lake Elsinore. Then Jerry lead us through an absolutely spectacular ride through the rural farm country up in the foothills West of Hwy. 15. I had no idea that country even existed back there. There were miles and miles of rolling hills, fields, orchards, citrus groves, and who know what else. It was one of the most peaceful places I have seen in a long time … right here in Southern California.
I would highly recommend to anyone that would like to take a very serene ride … this is it. See the google map below for turn-by-turn directions from Lake Elsinore to Temecula.
Since the best photo opportunities were along the route, and since no one was riding as a passenger, we did not get any photos of this ride, so you're gonna have to use your imagination ... or better yet, take the ride yourself.
We had lunch at Sweet Lumpy's BarBQ and abandoned all my diet "rules" with their heavenly food. It was well worth the extra calories I took in.
