Dear Mariners Riders

We gathered in the usual corner of the parking lot and by l2:30 we had seven bikes.  One more bike met us at Toms Farms.  I would say the beginning group was the “regulars” with only one new rider.  We departed on time and much to our disappointment, were not able to take Ortega hwy to get to Tom’s farms.  With the mudslides, Ortega is still closed.  That forced us to take the 55 to the 91 to the 15.  Since it was already l2:30 that made it a little better to eat “lunch” somewhere in the “lunch” time frame.

Paul led the ride and Peter rode drag.

The ride out was uneventful.   Everyone demonstrated being a pro at riding staggered.
(Not in anyway associate with staggering from too many blue-skies).  Ha

When we rolled into the parking lot of Tom’s farms, I for one was taken aghast at the number of motorcycles.   I think there were more bikes there than at the Rock Store.  The place was swarming.  We still got our food quickly and were able to gather up enough chairs and picnic tables to all sit together.

It was the usual good exchange of conversations.  Can’t beat the food.    The weather was perfect.  We had enough time to talk about future rides and the club itself.  The general concession of the people there is that we need to step up involvement in the club.  Get it back to the same level of enthusiasm the early days had.

At 3:00PM everyone departed for home.  All but one (me) continued on down the l5 to Escondido and cut across to the 5 and back up.  I had to be back so just returned to the 91 but was able to take Imperial and the back way through Cooks corner to get home.  Tom’s Farms to my house in one hour flat was making good time.

So sorry to say, not sure how the rest faired getting home, but I’m positive they all did and found the day to be just as rewarding as they always are.
Come on out next time and see for yourself.

Yours truly,

JJ and Patti
